Popular Tools GA, GAL, and GAM series blades are general purpose Alternate Top Bevel (ATB) carbide saw blades designed for sizing and cutting natural woods. They are ideal for cabinet shops, millwork, furniture production, and general woodworking where a single blade may be used for both ripping and crosscutting in solid wood and sheet goods.

What “Alternate Top” Means

ATB (Alternate Top Bevel) teeth are ground with alternating left and right bevels. This geometry:

• Produces a cleaner, sharper edge on crosscuts and miters in solid wood
• Reduces tear-out on many natural wood applications
• Makes these blades a strong general purpose choice for everyday cutting

A higher number of teeth provides a finer edge on the cut, but should generally be reserved for thinner material or finish cuts.

GA, GAL, and GAM Series Differences

• GA Series: Core general purpose ATB blades for natural wood, available in 7-1/4", 8", 9", 10", 12", 14", 16", 18", 19", 20", 22", 24", 26", and 28" diameters.
• GAM Series: General purpose ATB blades using Micro-Sheen C-4 sub-micron carbide for longer tool life in demanding applications and on sliding table saws.
• GAL Series: General purpose ATB blades with laser-cut body slots to help reduce noise and vibration for a smoother, quieter cut.

• Standard imperial diameters from 7-1/4" up to 28"
• Metric sizes such as 250mm, 300mm, 350mm, and 400mm for panel saws and sliders
• Common bores including 5/8", 1", 30mm and others
• 3+3 pinhole patterns on GAM-series blades for panel saws:
  • 2/7/42
  • 2/9/46.4
  • 2/10/60
