Woodworking saw blade FAQs

What tooth count should I use for crosscutting?

For clean crosscuts in solid wood and plywood, a 60โ€“80 tooth ATB or Hi-ATB blade is the sweet spot. Higher tooth counts leave a finer finish but cut slower and run hotter, so match the count to the material and your feed rate rather than always reaching for the highest number.

ATB or triple-chip for melamine and laminate?

Triple-chip grind (TCG) is the better choice for melamine, MCP, and laminate. The alternating flat-and-chamfered teeth shear the brittle surface cleanly and resist the chipping that an ATB blade can leave on coated panels. A Hi-ATB can work for occasional cuts, but TCG holds up far longer on abrasive coated stock.

What diameter and arbor fit my table saw?

Most cabinet and contractor table saws take a 10โ€ณ blade with a 5/8โ€ณ arbor; many production and sliding table saws run 12โ€ณโ€“14โ€ณ with a 1โ€ณ or 30mm arbor. Check your saw's manual for the maximum blade diameter and arbor size, then filter this collection by diameter and arbor to narrow it down fast.

Can these blades be resharpened?

Yes. Carbide-tipped blades are built to be resharpened multiple times over their service life, which lowers your real cost per cut versus replacing a blade each time it dulls. Resharpening is best done by a professional grinding service so the original tooth geometry is preserved.

Do you carry blades sized for sliding table and beam saws?

Yes โ€” larger-diameter main and scoring blades for sliding table and panel saws are in the panel saw blades collection. If you don't see your exact size, reach out and we'll match it from our range.
